Delete your account
You can delete your Buddy account and the personal data tied to it at any time. There are two ways.
Option 1: In the app (instant)
- Open Buddy and go to the Profile tab.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account and data are deleted straight away.
Option 2: By email
If you can't open the app, or you've uninstalled it, email support@buddyi.in from the email address of the Google account you used to sign in, with the subject "Delete my Buddy account". We may ask you to confirm it's you. We'll delete your account as soon as we can, and within 30 days at the latest, and reply when it's done.
What gets deleted
- Your account profile (email, name, Google account ID)
- All your chat messages
- Your likes and reports
- Your wallet history and purchase records
What we keep, and why
- Anonymous usage records. Counts of activity such as screen views remain, but your user ID and device ID are removed so they can't be linked to you.
- AI cost records. Totals of what AI replies cost us, with no link to you.
- A one-way hash of your Google account ID, only to make sure the first top-up bonus isn't claimed twice. It can't be turned back into your identity.
- Backups. Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days, then is overwritten.
- Google Play. Payments are processed by Google, which keeps its own records. Contact Google to manage those.
Before you go: deletion is permanent. Any money left in your wallet is lost and can't be restored. If you only want a break, you can just stop using the app; there's nothing to cancel because Buddy has no subscription.
